After Alban Berg’s death, Helene Berg – who staunchly adopts the role of “the composer’s widow” – takes care of the legacy and estate of her late husband. She ensures that both residences survive – in Vienna and in Auen – and that the manuscripts and important documents are preserved, and she also makes initial preparations  – at the latest from the 1950s onwards – for a foundation.
